Summary
We are looking for a dubbing Re-Recording Mixer to join our VSI Los Angeles Office, operating within the audio department. This position will report to both the Lead Re-Recording Mixer and the Head of Technical Operations. Responsibilities will include project mix duties in all formats supported by VSI LA including stereo, surround and Atmos. The mixer will be responsible for completion of projects as stipulated by the scheduling team. The Mixer will operate in Avid Pro Tools in conjunction with Avid peripherals like the s3, s1, and Dock surfaces. Shift hours vary but are generally 6pm onwards.
VSI promotes creativity and task ownership. We're looking for an individual who is focused on the craft and details of sound mixing. Candidates will focus on utilizing original source material in conjunction with facility recorded voice tracks to mix compelling and accurate versions of foreign content. Mixers are asked to work in multiple durations from trailers to films. In addition to creativity, we're looking for a candidate who can communicate effectively and understands post workflows including editorial, QC and reporting tools for project completion. An ideal candidate will have 5+ years of mixing experience, works, or has worked in localization, and brings a sharp eye for sync and creative ears for sonic balance and style.
In addition to mixing, the applicant will be asked to report and communicate with other teams regarding project state.
Candidates may be asked to perform one or two text mixes prior to employment.

Required Skills and Experience
• 5+ years in related department or field
• Advanced dialog editorial skills preferred
• Advanced iZotope RX skills preferred
• Knowledge of Dolby Atmos workflows preferred
• Good working knowledge of digital audio and video formats, frame rates, and deliverables commonly used in dubbing and/or post-production workflows
• Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and discretion
• Ability to successfully multi-task, meet deadlines, and manage multiple and often changing priorities and issues
• Excellent at problem solving, taking initiative, and being resourceful
• Ability to identify and anticipate source Audio and Video issues
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Drive
• Familiarity with industry standard media transfer protocols and archival methods
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Secondary language(s) preferred but not required
